Task: Create an exclusive identity for Stevenson High School's Italian Club that welcomes people of all ethic background. Engage with over 5,000 students, publicise collaborations with larger clubs, and create a welcoming community for students to get a taste of Italy.

The Big Idea

Stevenson High School's Italian Club is dedicated to providing and sharing Italian culture to enrich students' knowledge and its impact upon the world around them. Students come together to enjoy food, games, history, and traditions. Whether you are of Italian descent or not, everybody is welcome at the Italian Club.

Explore what made Italian Club an organization of it's own:

Bruschetta Cooking Lab

In the early days of the Italian Club, membership was struggling. A cooking event with SHS's Cultural Cuisine Club brought exposure paired with great-tasting Italian food. Students would earn their ticket to attend the free food event.

While the event was succsesful and increased early membership, the campaign leading up to the event was even more engaging. A comedic commercial aired playing fun of how Americans say Bruschetta, and the network advisors praised it, commenting it one of the best spots of the year.

One-tap NFC Engagement

At launch, over 20 posters were deployed across the 833,000 square-foot public school. To set the club apart on a densely-packed wall of QR codes and fine-print meeting dates, these posters featured an embedded chip for students to tap their phones and easily join.

Similar to how Apple Pay works, students would simply tap their phone, taking them to a website where they can add the meeting dates to their calendar of choice, opt-in for the mailing list, and follow the club's socials. This made room for eye-catching visuals. The result: increased and unique engagement. Trees were saved.

Special Events

Italian club would host many other events centered around Italian holidays and festivities. Each event has it's own theme, and corresponding visuals complimented this notion. Since this was a more general way to reach out to increase membership, brand consistency guidelines were maintained. Explore some of the features here:
